China has won the women’s beach volleyball title for six straight Asian Games through Xue Chen and Xia Xinyi.

NINGBO, China, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) — Xue Chen and Xia Xinyi eased past Miki Ishii and Sayaka Mizoe of Japan 21-11, 21-13 as China won the women’s beach volleyball title in a sixth Asian Games in a row on Wednesday.

Xue and Xia were simply too good for their Japanese opponents, triumphing in 35 minutes.

It is Xia’s third Asian Games gold and with a third different partner after winning the event alongside Ma Yuanyuan at Incheon 2014 and Wang Fan at Jakarta Palembang 2018.

“I think it is the heritage of the Chinese team. We have always adhered to high standards and conducted strict training. That’s why we can get China’s sixth straight gold medal today,” Xue said.

China has won the women’s beach volleyball gold in each edition of the Asian Games since Busan, South Korea in 2002.

The men’s beach volleyball final will be contested on Thursday.
